A wonderful theme was proposed for the 2019 calendar year. “More prayer, more power!” Among the many graces of God there is one very important grace given by God, the Creator, to his creation, man. This grace is the right and opportunity to pray, to talk, and to open their desires to Him.
Prayer is the inner contact of a person with God, contact in the Spirit and in truth. It is worship and glorification of the Creator. (John 4:23) Prayer is a conversation with God, as with your Father. “The Spirit you received does not make you slaves, so that you live in fear again; rather, the Spirit you received brought about your adoption to sonship. And by him we cry, “Abba, Father.”” Romans 8:15. Our spiritual state depends on prayer. Our strength and our boldness in service are directly dependent on prayer as well. Our Savior, Jesus Christ, often went away, spending nights in prayer. This gave Him the strength to boldly teach the people and do many miracles, such as heal the sick, cast out demons, and resurrect the dead. Instructing his disciples, who could not cast out a demon, Jesus said the following words: “This kind can come out only by prayer and fasting.” Matthew 17:21. Prayer is the key to receiving blessings from the Lord. For some Christians, this key is broken …. Prayer is the manifestation of our faith, which brings the hand of God in motion, and the hand of God is what either closes or opens the heavens for rain. (1 Kings 17:1) Prayer is a necessary condition for spiritual growth! Gregory of Nyssa said: Prayer is the guardian of chastity, the healing from irritability, the restriction of pride, the purification from remembrance, the destruction of envy, the elimination of untruth, and the correction of wickedness. Prayer makes our soul beautiful, and this is much more important than our face! More prayer, more power. The more work you must do on a particular day, the more time should be spent in prayer to prepare for this work. You will not lose time because of prayer but will save time thanks to it! Prayer is the channel through which all spiritual blessings are poured and through which strength comes from above, and therefore, the life of a Christian should be a life of prayer. (1 Thessalonians 5:17)
Do not let this channel dry up!
More prayer, more power!
With love and prayer, your brother in Christ,
